    Sorry, I think we might have been at cross purposes. I think I have found the cause of the leak though. There is damage on the o-ring. Will replace tomorrow, and tighten gently this time

    Hi, yes that is how the plumber left it. I think I applied PTFE in the correct rotation, i used 7 turns. The nut attaches from the top to the thread which is on the bottom when fitted. The leak is coming from the top the nut.

    Thanks Gazman I could not feel any fixings from underneath. I think the hinges are riveted as well, as I cannot see any visible screws. New windows sound the way to go perhaps

    Hi Yes the handle is fixed to a plate with a grub screw which is attached somehow to the aluminium of the window. There are no visible screws so I am not quite sure how it is attached. As you say I suspect I may have to drill fixing holes, so perhaps not an easy straight replacement after...

    I would probably do it the other way round. XP first then Windows 7, as Windows 7 will know about legacy OS's like XP, but not vice versa. I have done this on one of my PC's To select the boot order I would use easybcd, which is a peice of freeware. Google 'easybcd' and download a copy...
