in terms of testing, to make sure you have it programed correctly I would set it for in 10 minutes time, then you can test and retest until you know you have it correct, then set for the times you want it to work for.

the cable clearly isn't right, if it works on short cable and not on a long the difference is the cable its that basic. so how is the long cable wired A or B? it matches pin for in? some are used poer and some are used for video. sound like you may he the power ones okay but not the video

Probably is the case but maybe the tooling for making it has had a bit of wear and tear…. Who knows but it’s uncommon issue on the older panels from sure, just the hard plastic buttons need replacing as llettering has worn off. Think a few are finding this page or so has taken the information...

think the connector is stiffer and they arent pushed in very well...... or person installing is catching ribbon and pulling it seen a few that are obviously not pushed in very well. had some older ones and the design is different, but hard to tell if one is better than the other.

Most likely the ribbon isn't in correctly, sometimes they appear to work lose. However if the ribbon is in correctly and it still doesn't work, then you can replace the ribbons only at the minute I have some on ebay. Run out of the full replacement buttons (others do sell them) and not sure...

if its faulty and under warranty it can be returned via the place it was purchased from. If you cant see it maybe worth getting on the bench, after all you will have to take it down to send it back or swap it out. as a last resort you could delete it off and relearn it back on, jut in case...
