Very strange,i doubt the 50vdc from the phone lines or Ringing voltage would be the culprit hear personally i would be checking the separation distances between phone and overhead power lines,or maybe lightening strike near by.
When i worked for openreach i would occasionally come across boxes...
Just use a bt66 and run a new lead in if needed,no one will ever know the difference, most openreach engineers are so rushed they are happy if they can get in and out of a job within the short time they are allocated.
You got it the wrong way around, fibre into the house (FTTP) is what you would have if it was fibre from the pcp (cab) to the d.p (pole) into the house ,fttp is better.
If your area has had the network upgraded to include fibre to the overhead d.p you could then request this which would force...
Its abit difficult to tell what happened from the picture ,if the duct is below the bt66 you show a engineer would pull abit of slack up from the ducted cable and fit either a bt 66 or grey capping and run a new lead in into your house, the cables are crimped together using jelly crimps to...
Your ug feed looks like it is ducted probably to a box in the pavement it will probably be about 1ft down under your garden not much deeper.Drop term is only used when you are fed from a overhead pole ,you have a ug feed then a lead in into the house.i assume your master socket is under the...
My guess is there was at sometime a fault on your incoming underground feed and the engineer borrowed the spare pair from your neighbours ug feed to get your line temp working, your ug incoming is newer cable. From this box (bt66) the feed in for your house is on pair two (orange white) and should...
Dropwire should no longer be fastened to a chimney,Openreach should move this free of charge there should be what is called a 1024 on the pole stating that there is a chimney bracket off that pole, which should mean it will be moved some time in the future.Contact them tell them its fastened to...
B.T Openreachs problem ,at worse the crimps/dropwire will be slightly corroded, openreach engineers love this type of fault as its a 2 minute fix and will not charge you.
Of goes a happy openreach engineer who has just improved his days productivity :D
A- BT66
B- if the wires are not corroded leave it alone.
C- its the property of BT Openreach if you get them to move it tell them to duct it to the house this way if you have any problems in the future with the cable they can just pull a new one in instead of digging up your garden/driveway.
You no the way it is on most Internet forums ask for a review of anything and 50%will say it's s hite and the other 50%will say it's the greatest thing since sliced bread.
On here you can usually get a reasonable explanation if you want some technical advice and not a brief reply /guess with...
Er why not ?,my understanding is pir is passive and is triggered by sudden heat changes hence they tell you not to site them pointing towards windows or in drafts or do they need heat and movement.
I was looking for technical answer.
