Hot water supply often runs cold

Each time I have tried this the pipe heats up but the hot taps haven't run cold at that time (but have later). Thanks for your help but as the Heating Engineer says he has spoken to Bosch and they cannot suggest any other action except to replace the boiler I have given up and will live with...

Thanks but with the cold supply off there is no flow from the hot taps. Any further suggestions

Hot water supply often runs cold

Thanks Chris. Yes it is a combi - the first time we have had one. Any advice on best way to check your suggested cause. Just pumps may be right but we have used a well regarded firm though as we are new to the area we had no direct experience of them

Hot water supply often runs cold

We have moved into a house with a Worcester Bosch R40 HE plus. The hot taps and shower sometimes run hot then go cold. Heating Engineer has so far fitted a new plate heat exchanger and a new hot water thermistor without resolving the problem. So I am £500 worse off and still have the problem...

Duplicate Thread - Removing inspection chamber cover in block paving

I need to lift an inspection chamber cover to clear a blockage in the drain. The cover is a Peter Savage galvanised tray type. I have removed the blocks from the tray to reduce the weight and removed as much sand from between frame and tray as possible. The tray has probably been undisturbed...

Removing cover on inspection chamber in block paved drive

I have a blocked drain. There is a rectangular inspection chamber cover (Peter Savage) in the block paving which I need to lift to clear the blockage. The cover is the tray type filled with blocks. It looks like galvanised steel and has probably not been lifted since installation seventeen...

HELP!! MY BOILER WILL HEAT MY WATER BUT NOT MY RADIATORS!!

Had a similar problem which this site helped me diagnose as a motorised valve failure. The old valve appeared to have trapped black sediment with an almost fragile plastic texture. Could it be from the Grunfoss pump? What are the impellers made of?

    Programmer or Thermostat Fault

Yes there are two valves. I assumed that the other one (another Lifestyle 2 port) was operating the water heating. Sounds as though I need a new motorised vale when the Plumber gets round to ringing me back. Thanks again

    Programmer or Thermostat Fault

I do appreciate your help though I guess that if I understood the system better I might not need it! The Boiler is a Potterton Suprima 100 but as I said I don't think it is the problem As I said earlier the Programmer is a Lifestyle LP522 and the Thermostat, a Honeywell ( I think T6360B)...

    Wiring and loft insulation

Has anyone any experience of using aico Loftcaps? They say "Maintains sufficient air space around the fitting to allow continuous roof insulation to be laid directly over light fittings without overheating or damage to the lighting" Presumably I could board over them. Alternatively...

    Programmer or Thermostat Fault

I believe that it is running from the vibration and the fact that it is quite warm

    Programmer or Thermostat Fault

Thanks There is a Lifestyle 2 port motorised valve. No. The water heating is fine but the central heating doesn't respond when both are on at the Programmer or only one.

    Programmer or Thermostat Fault

The Central Heating system is controlled by a Lifestyle LP522 Programmer and a Honeywell Room Thermostat (I believe a T6360B). The boiler fails to react. I do not suspect a boiler fault as the boiler fires when called for (hot water) from the other half of the LP522 and from a separate...

    Wiring and loft insulation

Many thanks particularly to PrenticeBoy and ban-all-sheds for their advice. The wiring in the loft is for spot lights and bathroom extractor fans on the same circuit with 6amp MCB plus alarms (fire and security) I was intending to build enclosures to hold back the existing insulation but...
