I bought a new tap for the kitchen but the threaded brass tube that came with it is too short for my sink. The provided tube measures exactly 32mm in diameter so I sourced this product from Amazon...
I have several 16mm square edge floorboards that need to be replaced due to splitting etc. Oddly, they are various widths from 160 to 190mm!
Sixteen mill can't be had off the shelf, but in a previous thread a DIYer was advised to use 18mm which is readily available. In my situation, the 2mm is...
Hello Experts
My son and his g/f have a new flat and they want to change the lock on the only entry door so that nobody (such as former occupants) could possibly have a key. The g/f is a bit twitchy about being in the flat alone.
From the photos, is it possible to tell if this lock cylinder...
Thank you Iggifer. In reply to fender, what happens is that the green light comes on for a while, then goes out when I'm not looking at it (hence I'm not exactly sure how long it's on :)) I imagine pushing the button is something to do with the pairing process.
Hello plumbing genii,
The unbranded diverter tap in the attached photos is about 8-10 years old, and is stuck halfway between taps and shower. In the close up you see the ring that is supposed to be pressed down when diverting to the shower, but it doesn't move. There is what looks to be the...
Anyone recognise this tap? No branding on it.
It's one of those where once you divert the flow to the shower hose it will stay diverted as long as there is water pressure, ie as long as the taps are turned on.
Problem is, only part of the flow is being directed to the hose, and the rest...
Not very much, I've put steel along the top of the wall that needs bracing, and that does most of the work, but just need a little extra to make absolutely sure that wall won't move when the very heavy door opens.
I need to brace across a right angle corner of a DIY uPVC conservatory. The brace will be just above head height and will run horizontally from near the top of one wall across to near the top of another. The purpose of the brace is not really important but has to do with a heavy door that has to...
I'm trying to assemble a new close coupled toilet.
When offering the cistern to the pan, the nut that secures the flush mechanism will not fit through the hole in the pan, but rests partly through the hole, with the result that the cistern and pan will not marry up as they should and the...
Anyone familiar with this conservatory/greenhouse roofing arrangement? I'm missing a couple of the horseshoe shaped alloy retainers you can see in the foreground and wondered if anyone knows if they can still be bought.
Thanks for the reply. Follow up question: most Surrey flanges I've seen are said to have 22mm side outlet for shower and 28mm top for the vent. But from the pictures I've seen, they look to have mi threads and seats, and mi don't come in mm, but inches. I'm confused!
Attached is a photo of my hot water cylinder top outlet. The pipework you can see is 28mm, though it gets slimmed down to 22mm just out of shot. I intend to fit a Surrey flange to feed a pumped shower (cylinder is boxed in so no easy access for Essex).
What size Surrey do I need? Or when it's...
