    Floor tiling mistake?

Thanks. Much appreciated. Yeah I'm trying to keep it tidy At some point I'll figure out some system to be able to open the top of the cistern enclosure. I haven't got all the things yet. Window is in. Tiles are standing by. Bath and shower screen not yet purchased but got all the taps and...

    Floor tiling mistake?

@ree indeed that would be helpful. So. This is the general layout. Bath (shower bath) will go where the vac is. Door is being closed up and a new one made directly in front of the soil pipe. Hot and cold feeds have been brought up in the middle of the bath area since I'll be putting in...

    Floor tiling mistake?

I just want to check I'm getting all the layers down that I need. I don't want the toilet to flush uphill :) I currently have the dreaded chip. 18mm. I'm thinking I need to add: Hardie + adhesive and screws. Uncoupling membrane+ it's adhesive (or do I not need this with the hardibacker) Then my...

    Floor tiling mistake?

I was in Wickes looking for WBP to use as the under floor for the bathroom. They did have any but did have water resistant chipboard. I have since read that chip (****) board is not a good option for this use case. The toilet pipe height was set based off this floor height plus tiles...

Got a quote for a new oil boiler. Does it seem reasonable?

Thanks. I'm looking for someone else to quote now

Got a quote for a new oil boiler. Does it seem reasonable?

The guy yesterday looked and measured in the loft. There is room there for the cylinder. Pressure is good too, so that's not an issue. Neither of them actually asked what usage we'd have. But did see the bathrooms. So perhaps they made a mental note of their existence. Yesterday did chat about...

Got a quote for a new oil boiler. Does it seem reasonable?

4 bed. 1350sqft I think 2 bathrooms (aka 1 bath and 1 shower) both run off the tank/boiler. might run the kitchen sink at the same time as the shower. might also fit a shower upstairs. so 2 x showers at the same time. From what you've said, I guess the combis store an amount of hot water. I...

Got a quote for a new oil boiler. Does it seem reasonable?

Had another guy to quote today. His ballpark was around 10k but not got the official quote yet. He was advocating keeping a cylinder. But in the loft to free up the bathroom space. I believe he will include the new oil tank, new base for it too, boiler and cylinder relocation. Seems like a...

Got a quote for a new oil boiler. Does it seem reasonable?

I'll reply to the company and see if they'll do it. I checked the navien website and they are an approved installer.

Got a quote for a new oil boiler. Does it seem reasonable?

Indeed. But would rather have the space in the bathroom back as it needs a rearrange to make it practical.

Got a quote for a new oil boiler. Does it seem reasonable?

Probably. I assumed they'd clean out the gunk before installing a new boiler

Got a quote for a new oil boiler. Does it seem reasonable?

@lostinthelight Boiler and cylinder are about the same distance from hot taps etc. The boiler is outside on the ground floor. The cylinder is 1st floor basically above the boiler

Got a quote for a new oil boiler. Does it seem reasonable?

Okay. Thanks for the advice. I'll stick with oil. Any opinions on the oil combi idea. As I mentioned. Removing the cylinder would be ideal to free up the space in the bathroom. Do you think talking to the place that quoted and asking what can be done to get the price down is a good idea. E.g. I...
