    Shelf Brackets

Thanks - just edited the post to include the link to brackets and not the shelf! I've got 3 brackets for the shelf which is 1.8 m long, 30cm wide. It's a brick wall that used to be the external wall before they added a lean to in the past.

    Shelf Brackets

Just bought these to put up a long oak shelf which will work as a breakfast bar. Brackets Link I would have thought the long side of the bracket would go against the wall to provide the most strength, however the pre drilled holes in the bracket suggest otherwise as they are 9mm in diameter on...

    Plasterboard or Asbestos insulating board?

Hi guys, trying to fix a new light on the ceiling of an extension built around 1970, long story short half the ceiling ended up coming down with me underneath it. I think it makes sense to replace the whole lot and replasterboard it as most of it seems to have gotten wet in the past and is...

What to fill external chased wall with?

Seen lots of info about what to use with internal walls, but a few of the walls which have been chased in are external on the other side. They are brick walls and the chasing is just through the horsehair plaster. What would you use to fill these?

    Standing water around drains

I've got two outside drains and both have quite a lot of standing water around them, which can get worse if I forget to unblock frequently. Is there any way to prevent it? Drain one the metal grate sits slightly higher than the concrete - should I just redo the concrete to make it higher? Pic...

Which order should kitchen sink/cooker/washing machine go?

Only got a small space for sink, washing machine and cooker to go into, and the boiler is at the far right which means the cooker can't go there. Which order would you recommend? Sink has to go far left, then its currently washing machine, cooker, drawers - but does that leave hobs too near...

Washing machine waste pipe is this ok?

I just thought as the washing machine waste pipe was coming from the other side (on the right of the pic), however if it makes no difference then yes I'll do that

Washing machine waste pipe is this ok?

Thanks for your help. I'm planning on putting the washing machine in to the right of what is there at the moment. It has come with one of those U shaped drain hose holder things, so am I right in thinking I then don't need to connect the washing machine waste into the sink pipe spigot? What...
