Cheers all....called up Vokera & an engineer is out on Tues. They reckon it's a leaking seal on the inlet something.

Is the fill loop the shiney silver tube with a plastic tap on which leads off the cold water pipe to teh central heating bit of the boiler and is used to top up the boiler? If so then it is closed (however it may have sprung a leak???). Sorry about the poor use of technical terms :oops:

OK.....the flow rate of water from a cold tap is 25L/min. However I've noticed that when a hot tap is tunred on full the combi boiler seems to ignite, then turn off, ignite, then turn off so it seems that the water temperature fluctuations are caused by the combi not being 'on'. Could this be a...

Cheers for the advice! Would fitting a combi-compatible thermostatic shower head onto the shower prevent hot water temperature fluctuations?

The water from the hot taps is hotter but the temperature still fluctuates (from hot to very hot). On the technical blurb for my boiler is says that the maximum inlet pressure is 6.0 bar - is there any simple way I can find out what the water pressure coming into the boiler is?

Hmmm...so it sounds as if the cold water mains pressure/flowrate & temperature during a grim Leeds winter is too much for my combi. Is there a 'thing' that can be put into the water inlet pipe as it goes into the combi that tells you the flowrate(by a gauge) and can be adjusted to suit the combi...

Is 40L/min the norm? Still not sure what the prssure is but I've been assured by neighbours that it's high. I'm clearly out of my depth. :oops:

I've been told that a combi-compatable thermostatic mixer will resolve my shower dilemma. They're expensive but it's worth it so we can have a normal shower and therefore stop my wife swearing at me when the temp goes too cold.

I've got a Vokera Compact combi boiler (12 months old) installed in a first floor room of my house. It's cracking at central heating (quiet, heats up dead fast) but theres a problem with the hot water. When hot water is run from any tap in the house it fluctuates between napalm hot & luke warm...

I've got a similar problem with my Vokera combi - everything was working fine (accept the banging CH pipes which kevplumb helped me out with...cheers!!) during the summer, but since the CH started on a timed setting it occasionally does not fire in the morning because of (apparently) not enough...
