Help please - leaking gully at the back of chimney

Think I'm going to measure up and fit him one of these h ttp://directleadsupplies.co.uk/product/chimney-back-gutters/(and will make a backboard). Seems like the correct approach.

Help please - leaking gully at the back of chimney

Thanks Alastair. So far I've only seen to images of saddles being installed on shingle roofs. Is the approach still valid for a tiled roof? Are there any valid alternatives to a saddle or is it the only correct way to solve this?

Help please - leaking gully at the back of chimney

The width of the chimney is 31 inches. Should I be looking to build a chimney cricket / saddle here?

Help please - leaking gully at the back of chimney

Hi I'm wanting to help an elderly neighbour of mine who's has a persistent leak from his roof. A roofer (of sorts) has been to fix this 3 times and each time the problem remains. He has a chimney mid way up his roof (rather than the on the ridge) and on the back of the chimney there's a dip...

    The leaning wall of worry.

Thanks Woody yes will go with weep holes and make sure water runs off the top of the wall sufficiently with slanted coping stones.

    The leaning wall of worry.

Hi Will I need to keep the neighbour's soil back somehow or is it just whilst I build the wall? The brick wall dropping down is a bit random and just seems to be an extra bit to a retaining wall that's out of shot that runs at a right angle to this wall and separates my back Lawn at a higher...

    The leaning wall of worry.

Ok thanks a rebuild and upgrade to the footings then. I'm going to do this myself as the wall is my responsibility and I enjoy doing this stuff.

Thanks for the replies. There aren't any concrete blocks currently just the stones at approximately 12 inches depth.

    The leaning wall of worry.

Hi Folks I've got a stone wall approx 8/9 ft high on the boundary of my garden that is leaning rather badly into my neighbours garden (see the attached photos). It's not as tall on their side as the ground raises up but I'm concerned it may fall on them and squash them! It's construction is...

Tanking slurry - but to what height?

Hi Folks To comply with building regs I need to waterproof a room that I'm renovating that is slightly below ground (17 inches on one size, 5 inches on the other). I'm planning to use the product below. My question is: Do i need to tank all of the wall right up to the ceiling or just the bit...

Does this stooled cill need a wooden cill too?

OK well I'm building up the jambs to match the frame I have there. If it is too set back then I'll use the wooden cill. If not happy days.. Thanks

Does this stooled cill need a wooden cill too?

Finally I've managed to add a photo of my actual materials. Woody thanks although I'm not yet 100% sure what you mean. Could the frame not just sit centered and right back on the horizontal flat edge on the top/back end of the cill?

Does this stooled cill need a wooden cill too?

Hi Folks I'm creating a new window opening and have a hardwood window ready to fit along with a wet cast stone head and cill. I've tried to upload a photo to this site about 100 times bit it won't let me (so have just linked to an example on the web). So my question is this. Is it normal to...
