    Hi gas112, Do you know what the grey Honeywell valve model was and what pilot tube kit would be required? Realise in the long run a combi would make more sense but I'd need to take out a loan to fund it and I'd really prefer not to have to do that.

    Water is electric immersion and shower is electric so it's just the heating I need to sort.

    It's a Honeywell V8257A I think. Think the plumber is genuine as he told me a year ago it was on it's last legs and he's done other decent work for me. Have also been in touch with Johnson and Starley who confirm the valve is now unavailable :(

    Towel rail help

    It seems to be leaking from around the spindle and the rate of dripping varies a lot as the tap is opened. It doesn't actually drip as much when fully open as when it's half open but it does still leak. Cheers, Simon

    Just moved into a new house and have cold a towel rail which I believe needs bleeding (top half is cold). Only thing is I can't work out how to bleed it. It's an old Myson rail and this is a pic of what I believe to be the bleed valve: There's a circular piece of metal on the end...
