How can I heat the hot water towel rails without putting the heating on ?

For contrast, I have a 600w electric towel rail and I can't honestly work out the cost to run it except that 0.6kW x 24 x say 20p per kWh would be £2.88 per day or £86 per month which seems implausible. Is my maths wrong ?

How can I heat the hot water towel rails without putting the heating on ?

My property has gas central heating without a tank running a NCB700 ON combi gas boiler. The central heating works fine and I have unlimited hot water on demand but the existing towel rails in my bathrooms are fed from the central heating system. We never use the "hot water" option as without...

AEG 9000 SensiDry® 10 kg Washer Dryer Model No: L9WEC169R loud noise when drying

I'm even in two minds whether something has been broken during moving because if you press the bottom panel up, though it only flexes and doesn't move much, as it is rather flimsy plastic, you can create the sound or make it stop, depending on where you press and that might be indicative of...

AEG 9000 SensiDry® 10 kg Washer Dryer Model No: L9WEC169R loud noise when drying

I own laundry and dry cleaning machines and am reasonably familiar with bearing issues and yes, they could be in play a little but not to the extent that this sound is as it is present even when the drum is stationary before reversing. It must be something primarily to do with a motor or moving...

AEG 9000 SensiDry® 10 kg Washer Dryer Model No: L9WEC169R loud noise when drying

After 30 minutes, the noise came back. When running a dry cycle, if I lift the front to about 20 degrees, the noise stops. If I press the ground plate on the bottom near the front, the noise comes back. The noise is definately coming from the front just above the ground. 2nd video

AEG 9000 SensiDry® 10 kg Washer Dryer Model No: L9WEC169R loud noise when drying

I've opened it up and am running another cycle but everything looks near pristine except for a couple of cobwebs. Nothing out of place or obvious damage or anything else really.

No, spin only or spin after a wash is silky smooth as always.

AEG 9000 SensiDry® 10 kg Washer Dryer Model No: L9WEC169R loud noise when drying

I bought this new in 2018 for £1269 and it has been faultless except after we moved house. As soon as we used the drying function after moving house (professional removers) it started drying ok and then after a few minutes it starts an ever increasing noise, not grating, but as if something was...

Half height shower wall - what to construct with ?

Upstairs with wooden floors so no concrete to work from, what would you use to construct a half height wall which will be tiled ? Ideally, as strong as possible but not very wide as space is limited.

Replace bathtub with walk in sliding door shower - question about curb and water

I want to replace a bathtub with a walk in shower but I only have about 750mm of depth (current bath is 680mm). Width is 1700mm. I'd rather not have a curb but as I think I will have to, then with a 700mm shower tray, I'd only have about 50mm left which is significantly less than the normal...

Replace 10mm microbore in 3 bed 2 bath flat ?

I do appreciate that but I think there are a couple of ways of getting to an estimate. First, assume there is no central heating and you are installing. Second, you are ripping out and leaving it. Add the two above together and surely it isn't rocket science. What's a decent modern radiator...
