Recently fitted some passage door knobs. In each pack was a small flat piece of metal with a point at each end. What is it for? There is a pinhole on the stem of the door knobs (not in the knob) and I am assuming this 'tool' is something to do with that but what and how does it work? Cheers

Put it on II as suggested and things do seemed to have calmed down but still noisier than it was but noises more from boiler than pump. I notice too that there is a white dry residue down the side of the pump at the seam. The pump was only changed in 2017.
