Hello,
while moving furniture I have smashed a telephone socket in a bedroom. It was left hanging on by a couple of wires so I pulled it off. I don't need a socket there so am not bothered about fixing it but I just need to tidy it up. The cable disappears off into the wall and under the floorboards so I don't really want to have to pull it all out if possible. There are two other sockets in the house, one where the line comes in and another in the hall. I haven't used landline for years but had an old phone lying around and tried it in the other two sockets but there is nothing, however I do have Virgin so not sure if there should be a dial tone anymore. So what is the best way to tidy up the cable that went to the broken socket leaving it in place if possible?
Thanks
