Hi all,
I'm trying to find a private approved inspector to assist on a 2 storey extension. Main issue I have is the 8 weeks the LABC will take to review the scheme.
Just wondering whether anyone here can recommend someone who'll cover my area?
Thanks
Old cisterns hold lots more water than modern ones and the 6 ltr limit (combined with expanding wastelines!) means that toilets have to be able to remove soil more efficiently than previously. This is done by creating a faster discharge of water into the pan from the cistern, and avoiding the...
Hi all,
Considering having a log burner installed as part of a renovation project. Problem is that the unit we are after is not hetas approved. I've been told that this fact will mean that building control will not approve the install.
Is that correct?
hi all,
I hope I'm not breaking any rules with this enquiry. I'm based near wincanton although I'm not sure if this could be done remotely?
I'm looking for an electrical designer to help specify the following:-
1) New CU in new meter cupboard with submain to old meter location for...
Apologies for the lack of clarity - so maybe I should have worded:-
An economy 7 type meter energises immersion during off peak periods. I only need them to take the water to 50 deg.
However exceptionally (when their is high DHW load) I will need them to heat the water to a higher temp and...
That would solve my problem as stated - only I wanted to be able to overide the cylinder stat at other times and heat the water to a higher temperature (i.e. for central heating).
Hence why I'm looking to try and use a cylinder stat. Is it possible to use a relay?
Looking for a way to have a cylinder stat to liven up an immersion circuit when the water temp drops below say 50 deg.
I assume I can't run a normal cylinder stat in series with the immersion due to the high current. Any advice would be appreciated!
I used to design bathrooms for a living, and I wouldn't try and squeeze a separate shower cubical into that room - it's too small to accomodate it reasonably.
I'd suggest an overbath shower.
I've submitted planning for a rear extention to my mid-terrace 2 bed cottage. It's a double storey extention which will make the property 3-bed.
The front of the property is within 1.5m of the public highway (I've a very small front garden).
A guy from the planning dept came round to take...
You could fit electric UFH but the highest output units are only 200w/sqm so you'll probably be adding 800w or so to the room.
Normally electric UFH is used to make the tiles bearable to walk on in the morning - so it's run with a timer.
However, if your problem is lack of heating in the...
You'll probably need to remove the valve to inspect the seal. If it was me I'd use a combination of brute force and bad language in that order.
As to how you get that water / metal out of there, towels / a magnet / wet hoover / tweezers / fingers / drinking straw etc
good luck!
Check the seal on the discharge valve (the bit that you lift up to let the water into the pan) - sounds like it's leaking water into the pan.
It should create a seal when it sits into the bottom of the cistern.
Never seen an item like the one you're looking for.
Why not just get a new hose and one of these to use with your existing riser rail (you'll just need to check riser rail diameter).
