It recommends that or solvent weld in the manufacters instructions and I did not fancy the larger bore of the solvent weld going through joists etc... Also I could get better formed and sweeping bends with the copper.
Hi,
I have just installed a macerator and the discharge pipe (22mm copper) exits the external wall of the house and enters the soil pipe. This section of pipe has a very small length and a bend, i.e 2" to bend and 2" to soil pipe. Standard insulation would look ungainly and probably fall off...
Hi,
I am wanting to install a bathroom extractor fan with a timer. I do not want it connected to the lighting, but its own switch.
The fan has L SL & N
The fan isolation switch has L1 L2 & N
Is it ok to use the isolation switch as the day to day switch (outside of bathroom) for the...
Hi,
Simple question, I am looking to add a magnetic filter to my powerflushing machine and would like to know if anyone has any preferences over the 2 main models, Kamco or Magnaclean.
Also, are there any others on the market?
Thanks
Sam
Hi,
I have just bought a van and have 2 sets of wheels and tyres for it. The ones on it are alloys with 195/60 R15 88H (Continental). The spare ones are on metal wheels and are 175/65 R14 86T (Firestones).
Now then, is one set better than the other at road handling, economy etc... Why...
Hi Guys and Gals,
Something that always keeps me guessing is the relationship between an electric showers KW and whether you get a higher water pressure. I know that the higher KW showers heat the water up quicker but is that where it ends.
Is there a calculation relating the the KW...
Hi,
I am in the middle of a bathroom fit and I am almost ready to install the shower screen which is quite heavy. I have not tiled yet as I sometimes put the fixings in prior to tiling.
Now, the wall is quite soft when drilled into and the property is pre war and has lats in some walls...
Thanks again.
I do believe I charged the system with cold water first and then kicked the boiler into action. Does that change your view of the possible problem.

Another very quick question.
If draining down a system, is it necessary to close both valves on a rad (to save draining it all and wasting inhibitor), or can I just close the TRV/wheelhead valve and leave the lockshield where it is.
Thanks again.
Thanks. The main thing from my point of view is that the installation is ok. I intend to do a full balancing act! I have an infrared thermometer so should be able to do a good job and it will be great practice.
I will report back and let you know how I have gone on.

I do regular powerflushes and tend to quote in the region of 300 - 400 for a standard house.
All my equipment is paid for, the chemicals are in the region of £40, no more.
Its a full days job if done right, also depending on the amount of debris that needs clearing. I once spent 2.5 hours...
Thanks for that, the instructions seem really detailed.
From my description, does that sound like the problem. I have opened all the lockshields fully.
Does my circuit diagram look ok?
Once again, many thanks
Sam
