im just after some advice before i go ahead with a powerflush.
i have 15 rads that need flushing. the quote has come in at around £400 which sounds sensible to me for a days work 2 men but is a lot cheaper than any other quote ive had. i think BG would be charging around £1500 for 15 rads. other quotes have come in around £1000 which sounds very excessive.
Am I foolish to go with this company? They have a great website, i have trawled the web for any complaints against them and cant find anything. Ive spoken to the guy and he seems fine and says hes cheap because all the others are inflating prices way too high and he is being sensible.
Details of the quote are:
As you are probably aware; your area has 'above average' hard water, which invokes sludge and scale: so please note that your system could take around 6 hours (for two engineers) to be flushed to the BS 7953 Standard. Ourprocess also includes cleaning both sides of your heat exchanger and the diverter valve in your combi.
Im told by someone else that 15 rads is a full days work so is 6 hours sounding too rushed? He said he would do all the rads but would focus on the downstairs ones as they tend to be worst affected, which is true as they are the ones with worse cold spots.
I wont name the company - unless someone wants to know as they have had a bad experience and it might be the same company!
