    Dry Verge Units Slippage

Looking at buying a house and the survey showed that there was slippage of the dry verge units. Is this likely to just be historic poor fixing or indicative of an underlying problem? https://www.dropbox.com/s/qrim7b6729s2ji6/roof.png?dl=0

    SIEMENS RWB9

As I said it is in an awkward place so although the motor replacement looks straight forward I will probably get someone to do it who has done it before and has double jointed fingers.

Having checked the valve. The CH valve it is open and the lever is floppy irrespective of whether or not there is power applied to the system. Does this mean it is just motor, needless to say it is in an incredibly awkward position and I hope it is not necessary to change the whole head.

Makes sense, I assumed that the controller just caused valve to move. So is it just a case of having the microswitch replaced without touching the actual mechanical valve itself.?

But why does it trigger the boiler ignition when both CH and HW demands are switched off?

My central heating has developed a problem in that when I apply mains power to the system but with both the HW and CH switched off (lights out) the boiler fires up and activates the pump and central heating. I cannot switch off the heating.

    Hilton Taps

Yes sorry, what I mean is that it is seized inside it; on the other tap I tried to remove the slack by packing a washer under the spring clip but it didn't seem a reasonable solution.

    Hilton Taps

Two reasons. cosmetically the combined affect of hard water and descaler and also functionally. They have worn such that there is about 1/2 turn of slack movement on opening and closing the tap and on one of them when you undo the 'shroud' the body unscrews at the same time and i cannot see how...

    Hilton Taps

I have some antique gold finish basin taps which I want to replace with like for like, but unfortunately i don't know what make they are . The only clues is that the white disk on the top has the world "HILTON" on, ring a bell with anyone ?
