i need to insulate my loft as it is an old house with 100mm of fibreglass insulation already down which is not very effective. the prob is that i plan to do a loft converstion in five years maybe sooner, and need to know if i need to put a specialist insulation or if there is any special...

Hi - my loft insulation really is old and bad - so i am going to completely re-lay it. I only intend to do this once - so would like to do it with the best stuff. Cost is not of a major concern - I would rather get it done right. Which type/brand whould you recommend? many thanks TKL

your proably right - but worktop is 7mths old already and still shiney and tiles have 'soft' matting on rear - thanks for the reply. is it going to be okay to enclose the chock block in the housing you can see in the picture and plaster this in? I realise that if something 'goes wrong' over...

Some electrics have been moved around in the kitchen splashback area and now it needs to be re-tiled. mosaics are going to be used. Please look at the picture ... what would be the recommended preparation process prior to tiling? Many thanks

Hi It looks like I might be aquiring a new 60cm built under/in cooker and also a non matching 77cm Hob. Will these be able to be fitted into a kitchen together or will the larger hob fowl the 2 lower cupboards either side of it? Many thanks Tomato

Hi – have finished tilling my bathroom all over using homelux edging round the bath and window – looks great. However – didn’t think/pay attention to the walls meeting the floor, it doesn’t look so good when you compare it to the bath/window seal etc… is there a post-tiling seal that can mask...

Hi - real DIY Newbie question here.. was going to use some homelux plastic seal under my tiles (bath already siliconed to plasterboard). then It struck me wouldn't it be better to tile up to the bath - put another later of silicone between tiles and bath then add an 'over tile' bath trim...

ok softus - great - thanks for advice (and chrisR) - cistern to pump is 10ft straight in 15mm will rip out tomorrow and stick in 22mm its no big deal i don't think (even for worlds worst plumber - moi) will leave from pump to bath/shower as 15mm and fingers crossed... thanks e-body.

ok - yep its all new to me so was planning on monitoring water level in cistern for the first 'shower'.. the pump i am looking at has dry run protection anyway so the worst i should suffer is reverting back to my dribble... softus do you think the mix of 15mm pipe work will be okay?
