Installing shower with tile backer boards

Thanks for your reply. Their instructions show that 10mm is okay for 300mm so I was hoping 12 mm would be okay on 400mm centres laying the boards horizontally with additional noggins to fix the boards too

Installing shower with tile backer boards

Hi all, I have a square en-suite which has 3 walls made of stud work and then one wall is thermalite blocks. I am looking to use insulated tile backer boards with a shower tray. I just wanted to make sure I was doing it right! I am planning to board the walls with 12mm Jackoboard insulated...

    Mounting boiler

Thank you for your feedback. Could I cut a bit of ply and secure it to the wall then put the plasterboard over it so that it bridges the gap between plasterboard and aerated block?

    Mounting boiler

I have lived in my house for 9 years and when I moved in there was a very old but large garage at the end of the garden that was falling to bits so I took it down and planned to rebuild it in the future. I would now like to rebuild the garage but was wondering would I need planning permission...

    Garden room roof support

I have looked at the cost of I Joists and they are quite expensive. It would still be cheaper to bolt two joists together than doing it all in I Joists.

    Garden room roof support

I was looking at I-Joists last night actually, I like the fact they are stronger, more energy efficient and can span longer distances. I assume would not need struts in-between?

    Garden room roof support

Thank you for your reply, not subject to building regs. Okay your advise would be 300 crs or 400 crs with two joists bolted together?

    Garden room roof support

Hi all, I am planning to build a garden room which will be 6.6 meters wide and 5 meters long/deep. I have managed to find joists that are 6 meters long which will give me the overhang on the front and back. The roof will then have firring strips on top, 18mm OSB board and then EPDM rubber on...
