Controlling gravity HW, pumped CH that does not have room thermostat

Hi Hugh thanks for the reply, one thing I do not understand is it looks like the pipe to the CH water tank which is 15mm is between the pump and the V4034 valve. How would the hot water get to the tank if the pump is off. Thanks again for your help Tony

How to prevent a boiler being turned off at night

He does want the heating on in the morning, the problem is that he is obsessed with turning everything off at night. If I can physically stop him from turning off the boiler he will get used to it being left on overnight. Would it be safe to bolt a perspex panel to the metal boiler cover which...

How to prevent a boiler being turned off at night

Hi Andy, thanks for the reply, I don't think a Hive would work as he would still turn off the boiler and he would also turn off his router (I don't know if Hive works via internet or 3g)

    Breathable vs non breathable felt

Hi can anyone explain the benefits of breathable over non breathable felt to be used on an 80sq m pitched roof in a garage. Also I have read recently that breathable felts can result in the death of bats that roosts between the felt and the slates. Does anyone know of a modern felt that is...

    Drayton TRV4 question

I don't know very much about these valves, all I know is that a new one has around 9.25mm exposed and that if I compress it by around 2 to 3mm it closes the valve. The temperature I quoted in my last message was a red-herring.

    Drayton TRV4 question

I have just had a look at a new TRV4 valve and the pin at 68 degrees protrudes about 9.25mm and will go down another 2 to 3mm when pressed. There is a tool to balance the radiator using the TRV.
