    INSULATION RESISTANCE TESTING...

sorry Traineespark. Didn't mean to steal, or rather, pluralise your existing name. Anyone fancy taking on a 30 year old as an apprentice who will work for peanuts (not literally) in order to learn the trade?

    INSULATION RESISTANCE TESTING...

When carrying out an insulation resistance test between live conductors of the socket outlet and a short circuit is discovered, what is the best way to test this to determine the location of the fault within the damaged cable. And what's the best way to rectify this? ay ideas?

for the past 3 years , I have have been studying the Electrical Installation 2360 City & Guilds. I am completing part 2 in June. MCB tripping

i think i have identified the problem, albeit a very embarrasing one to divulge. MCB tripping

at the moment its tripping every 30-40 mins if not more frequent. Still, its all good in helping me with my studies. Yes, i'll be going for as many qualifications as possible. The hardest part will be trying to get work without the experience, which I'm not looking fwd to at all. Thanks for...

    MCB tripping

allow me to clarify the situation. I dont actually work as an electrician. I am at college half way through year 2 and hope to become one in the near future. I dont actually have a tester but will have a access to one through college. All the building work was completed in December-January so no...

    MCB tripping

would that be a nail through a cable?

    MCB tripping

Clearly a lot of investigation needs to be carried out. The work was carried out by a qualified Sparks so I can only assume he did the correct calculations. Would the MCB still trip if no lights were actually on? Does this imply a faulty MCB? Thanks for the response by the way..
