It's a rebuilt bay window with new cement board facing ready for K Rend.
The plasterer has attached the render mesh using drywall screws. Presumably he's going to apply the base coat on to the mesh. Is that correct technique? Won't it just squish the mesh against the substrate and not embed fully?
What's the standard way to protect windows when removing old stone dash render with a Kango style drill? It's a 2 storey semi. UPVC frames/sills.
My tradesman relied on "just taking it off in small pieces" and allowing them to fall down. When I pointed out my concerns he 'protected' the windows...
Not sure this if this is the right place, but it's a rendering job.
Prior to rendering, my plasterer got someone to replace the bay window leadwork that protects the lower window. Existing leadwork needed replacing. My concerns are that the overlap is only about half an inch and it's sealed...
Thank you very much. I was wondering why they did it that way. Didn't occur to me that the cylinder was newer than the hot rod. I haven't ordered a new cylinder yet - I'll have another look at the old one and see if I can make it work the way it should have been done. Cheers...
Hoping you folks can advise please.
My indirect cylinder is heated from 15mm pipes that go in to a calorifier coil (? see pics) where the electric immersion usually goes. It's been slowly leaking at the connections for several years(!). I tried to tighten them a bit but it just made it worse...
I can't find the answer to this anywhere. I'm rebuilding a low front garden brick wall from the 1920s. The wall has saddleback copings which are hollow inside. I've seen people set the solid copings. They seem to bed them, then point between. But mine are hollow so I don't think that will work...
Thanks - I'm fairly certain the branch off is lead judging by the dents/deformations that you wouldn't get in cast iron. I'd only ever seen cast iron and plastic ones, so it threw me a bit. What's the best way to join it to a new plastic Y? I've bought some push-fit slip couplings and the rubber...
Hi all. My scaffolders pulled off a section of the iron soil stack. In fairness it was in poor condition. I've just been up the ladder to have a look. There's a short section that joins at the 'Y'. I thought it was all cast iron, but looking closer it's quite badly dented, so it may be hard to...
Far left-wing overbearing statist control. Don't be fooled by the nice-sounding, eco-fluffy labels. They want to control everyone's lives. They don't even have good reasons to oppose the freedoms they despise - they just don't like them.
If it actually inspired people to enjoy learning then it might have a point. I read recently that everything you learn in your 10 years a school could actually be taught in about 100 hours.
I love learning stuff. I'm the big kid that never grew out of asking why. Why is that? [See!] That's...
