Goes directly into concrete block from the back of the plug knockout box. Can't see where it goes really. Looks like it comes from above but that might just be the way it looks as it looks like it's been drilled at that angle. Will get a picture if I can in the morning.

Seen a few people drain the system before changing diaphragm. Is this necessary?

Just a thought. When testing the microswitch and leaving the hot water tap running why wouldn't the water get hot with the boiler running?

Got the manual and seen a few posts of how to replace, send pretty straight forward.

Water demand light doesn't come on at all. Pressed the microswitch manually and hot water demand and burner come on for about 10 seconds. Central heating works as normal.
