    Potterton performa 30he problem

Ok, a little update, new part arrived today, put it straight in, everything works just as it should, thank you for all the advice, it was very much appriciated. Just for piece of mind, the reason i questioned about the hw sensor as the lights on dhw was doing the same (obviously someone...

    Potterton performa 30he problem

Ok have ordered the primary thermistor as suggested, but have a new symptom also, the heating is off atm, and the hot taps also off, but the boiler keeps igniting neither tap or radiator led is illuminated, but the flame one is. https://1drv.ms/u/s!At_oeLOcWpfTjGSwcUm3XyyJ_m2k Dunno if the pic...

    Potterton performa 30he problem

Ok, slight addition, running the DHW and the temp leds only register 30 deg, yet the water is way hotter than that, could this new symptom now point to the pcb, as they use 2 different temp sensors for the 2 circuits?

    Potterton performa 30he problem

Thanks for the reply, this is the one on the CH outlet pipe? From what ive seen in the manual, i dont need to drain down the system for that sensor? Thanks again.

    Potterton performa 30he problem

Wonder if anyone csn help or assist, i have the above boiler, and seems lately when the central heating comes on, it fires up as it should, the leds light up 30deg then 40deg then 50deg, then they shoot up to the 80drg and the boiler shuts off, but still shows CH calling, then the leds drop to...

Ok, ill do it that way instead, thanks for the heads up on that. Ill get some stuff to do the cleaning with, although i wonder as these exchangers seem to be availavle for about £30 i wonder if it saves time and effort to just replace.

    Potterton performa 30he combi probs.

From what i can see, i drain the dhw as i did yesterday, the heating side, i turn off both taps for in and out, and looks like a drain tap on the other end of the manifold to the hydraulic venturi. I didnt think about chemicals for cleaning tbh, anything you can recommend, as i was just...

    Potterton performa 30he combi probs.

Well sort of, i now hear a slight whistle when the hot taps on full, or the shower is on, no sound atall when just tye heating is on. So either a bit is stuck in there somewhere, or the plate exchanger has a slight blockage. Might just get some seals, whip it off and have a look, it dont look...

    Potterton performa 30he combi probs.

Ok, did it this evening, i think you have given me some sort of success, i got the old one out quite easy, but as suspected, the cage on the end was broken off, after a bit of a fashion, i got the spring, and what was left of the cage out, but the little bit the spring pushes on over the...

    Potterton performa 30he combi probs.

Ok, so having reread your message and you said about the water temp, i realised both my dhw and ch, were both at the max, so i bought them down and whilst its still doing it, its seems to have made it not as bad. But also have now noticed as i was stood next to the boiler for some time, that it...

So taking from what you are hinting at, you would look to the main heat exchanger, not the plate heat exchanger? Although ive had the diaphram done, i still feel sometimes it takes a lot of flow to get the DHW to come in, but that could just be me. I was hoping to do the work on this myself...
