Can I just check with you that the blue and brown wire in the photo, is actually part of the existing light bulb holder and will not be used with the new light at all?

When you say one connector block, do you mean one single connecting block from the strip ie all three wires go in one hole and are screwed down. Also should I wrap red insulation tape around the block?
