    Potterton Boiler's Lockout

I pulled a swift one - worked out what it was in December and signed up quick to British Gas Homecare package then miraculously had a breakdown 6 weeks later :) Guy told me they are 180 quid new plus labour. I've seen reconditioned ones on fleabay for 35 or similar, if you have a pet corgi...

Using Sentinel X100 - any tips?

Thanks for the help. I can't find any drain points for the system as such, all our piping is in the walls. However, the downstairs rads each have a point by the valve, opened by the bleed key - I assume I can use any one of these? Also, is there anything I need to do before taking water...

Using Sentinel X100 - any tips?

OK, it has been suggested I should add some X100 to my system. Question - do I simply crawl into the loft, lob it into the header tank and run the system and hope that it circulates? Or do I need to drain water out of the header, add the stuff etc? Or something else that I haven't thought of...

    Taking Advantage....

Is "Michael" a bit, erm, simple? I suppose in the spirit of keeping the peace you just need to "be strong" about the things that really matter to you, and just go with the flow for the rest. And get a lockable filler cap, thats a given :)

Windows - no disk error message help please

Is your hard disk letter C, or a higher letter? I saw this prob recently for a chap who had installed Windows to H while C-F were all removable drives (card readers) and gave a No Disk message because, well, there was no disk :)

    Taking Advantage....

You don't. Why should you? Unless you are arrogant enough to think that "your point" is absolutely right. Not everyone lives their life according to the same script, he is doing things in a way that you don't agree with - doesn't mean that it is wrong or that you are empowered to show him the...

    Polythene bays on motorway verges

I noticed a bunch of these on the M23 on both sides to and from Gatwick last night. Probably mounting sites for a raft of new speed and tax cameras

    Cricket - 4

Have you looked at the faces passing you by in your High Street lately m8? Statistically speaking we probably have too many "white British" players in the team for it to be representative  Either way, they suck, and the good ol' Brit public were well and truly suckered into thinking...

Motherboard swap-out,Windows no longer boots from SATA drive

Moving a HD into a new system is dangerous at best, you may have installed the SATA drivers but there are a whole raft of other drivers required for your old HD to be able to work and play well with the new mobo (chipset, USB, graphics, audio etc etc). It is very unlikely that windows would...

Potterton Suprima 40 Noise and Cutouts

OK - having sat and watched the damn thing for a while, I notice that while operating the boiler seems to go off every 10 minutes or so, the flashing light code showing "boiler temperature control satisfied". It usually then fires up again after a few minutes. I don't know what this means, is...
