Why does my kitchen waste always block?

Why does my kitchen waste keep blocking? It frees up with a quick plunge but I find I need to do at least once a week. If your wondering, it is propped on some wood blocks as it came loose and was leaking a while back.

How do I wire this a socket?

How do I wire this to a socket? Electrician installed a new point but wire is a loop. Said he would come back to put the socket on but I want to do it now. I’m confident with wiring plugs, switches etc, just not seen a loop like this and need some confirmation what to do. Thanks

    Removing window security bars

Thank you. I tried drilling / chipping out the surrounding mortar but these things are in deep and have a bend that 'hooks' in. I am thinking the easiest cut would be where I have sketched the red lines. So the plan is to use an angle grinder with a thin metal cutting disc and eye protection...

Which way should a door swing for a small office

Could be a good place for a light switch but would be fine on the left.

Which way should a door swing for a small office

I discarded a pocket door on price as this is only a temporary door. Eventually will become a en-suite to the bedroom!

Which way should a door swing for a small office

I am building a small office and can't decide which way the door should swing for a small office. Option 1 - Door swings out onto landing - right handed handle Option 2 - Door swings in into office - left handed handle

Building a stud wall - how hard can it be - help!!

So it is ok if my frame basically clamps to the ceiling joist via the ceiling plaster and laths? It is quite easy to access the wall studs, so I am just going to build directly onto those. The new room will be an office, but will be converted into a shower room one day, so I suspect all the...

Building a stud wall - how hard can it be - help!!

Thanks, the advice for a plumb line was just what I needed. I couldn't work out how to get the laser to project a line on the ceiling. I am lucky that I have wall studs, ceiling & floor joists to screw into. I am just wondering if I should cut away a strip of the ceiling plaster so I can build...
