Hello,

We are looking to replace our rear single glazes rotting french doors.
245cm wide
267cm tall
273cm tall including step / sill

We found a potential double glazed replacement on facebook marketplace but it is a little smaller.
239cm wide
237cm tall

So...
6cm narrower
30cm shorter or
36cm shorter depending on if the measurement is inclusive of the step.

What are the consideration of installing a shorter french door and would you recommend this approach?

Thanks,
Matthew

You do realise the brickwork above is likely to fall when you take out existing doors, lower brickwork is built directly on the timber frame.

Nope. Really just trying to understand the consideration to assess whether it is worth it or not.
Thanks
It does look like it needs replacing, the arch above should be fine, but the brickwork on the door will fall, you could use timber/UPVC to fill the gap between, but that Facebook frame is far too low.

Something like this.
