Hi,
Did you resolve this in the end? I have the exact same problem with fitting a hive to a glow worm betacom 30c, the hive is working fine but the boiler ignores it?
Hi,
I have a loft conversion and have fitted solar pv to the roof. since the panels have gone on it is very noisy in heavy rain, will re boarding with sound bloc boards help to reduce this or is it a wasted effort?
Cheers
Steve.
Morning all,
I am fitting a cooker hood extract fan in my kitchen and the only feasable means of extract is through the flat roof above, weatherproofing the roof is fine but what does concern me is the pipe I am using is a 4" soil pipe I can find caps to shield the top but they all leave the...
I would have said stripping the roof off and re doing it would be the only way to go, the valley detail is wrong and the top batten is not close enough to the ridge to give a weather tight finish where the ridge tiles over lap the roof tiles. putting some cement under a few tiles that are...
If the valley is costructed out of one piece of board laid across the angle this is an accident waiting to happen, the valley shoud have two pieces of board which will sit with one on each roof slope neatly meeting at the point the two roof slopes meet this forms a gutter when the lead is...
I think the valley will be the main culprit,
did you see them carry out the work? another concern I have is the two different colours of the cement, it looks to me that they have just "buttered" the beds up to make it look like they had done more work.
The ridge tiles should cover the roof...
Stephen,
Looking at your pics the lead valley appears to be flat between the two roof slopes and not v shaped without checking overlaps, width of lead uesd and so on my initial concern would be that having a valley flat like that would leave rain water following the cement bed of the tiles down...
Thanks Andy,
I fit a lot of solar so the electrical side of my boiler isn't completly a dark art to me, will any external timer do mate? preferably one I can pick up tomorrow 8)
Cheers
Steve.
Most roofing suppliers don't stock 180mm lead because not many roofers will pay the extra couple of quid for it over 150mm, personally I started roofing with a large company that prides it's self on a quality job and even as far back as the late 80's it was standard practice for us to use 180mm...
Merry Christmas all,
I know my bolier is as old as the hills but I have a problem that started last night and I am hoping that some kind soul out there has the answer I am looking for.
Basically I had a power cut yesterday that lasted about 12 hours, the power came and went intermittently...
