need to replace a couple of rads and just wondered what to buy...Myson is a bit expensive but interent prices are cheaper. What would you reccomend as a good quality cheap radiator and where do I go to buy?
Thanks for any advice.
Hi
It might only be the first 2 years that that such is only covered but it is worth asking? Depends also what the cause is for if it in't anything serious then it will be classified as normal shrinkage: "Please remember that the builder is not responsible for items such as normal shrinkage"...
If it is a 3 year old property has it a 10 year NHBC warranty? If so get the seller to contact them to get problem sorted. In new builds you get the odd cracks in plaster as it dries out but they can be filled in easily...your prob is a different matter. Hope you get it sorted quickly and...

And here I was hoping you were a pro so you could finish my painting!
Thanks lads. I asked Dulux trade center and they phoned ICI and the reply was just water the paint down further. At 20% already I wonder how much? I was thinking about usung a brush and shall have a thnk
As I have one coat on of the old formula which was easy and one coat of the...
Had 2 different Dulux Trade vinyl matt 5lt-bought at different stores around the same time, one is the old formula the other is a new formula with a higher pigment so that it covers better-according to Dulux it is because there were too many complaints about the old! I was told I would be fine...
there are a number of pva splashes as the plasterer fitted coving as he did the skim. Had the same prob in another room and it was difficult to remove such despite sanding etc. You can't tell until you paint even though I thought I had removed them :x
Can I touch them in with oil based...
Thanks Zampa. I would follow your advice but already have water based and oil based undercoat and it is only a smallish area-so stick with the oil based and hope there are no probs!
I bought two 5lt of the above but from different shops. One says the paint is washable. The other is 'new improved formula' 'covers' better' but nothing about washable. Obviously the second tin is the new one.
Is vinyl matt washable?
Or just the old formula and not the new...
I am to emulsion a room with boxed in pipes which has new coving on top. The boxing in has been glossed which I have rubbed down. As I am emulsioning the walls with matt and will need to emulsion the boxed in bit (can't understand why someone glossed this as the room is emulsion paint up to...
Yes you could varnish and it will give a nice effect preserving what is underneath. I would very lightly rub down first BUT make sure you do not remove any previous coating of the dark stain down to bear wood...easily done if you sand too aggressively...then you will be left with light patches...
Try using those small sponges you use in the kitchen with a hard green side. If you pour some boilng water out of a kettle into a container then use the green edge of the sponge and gently rub and it will lift the emullsion. I normally use a little washing up liquid or washing powder...but if...
What is the best way to tackle silk emulsion on a lightly patterned papered (anaglypta) loft stair case-I hate the paper but it has been put directly on top of plasterboard so too much work to remove. I would prefer a matt finish. Can I risk covering with matt? Do I go for an emulsion with a...
Carpet being fitted on Monday
Make sure you warn the carpet fitter that he is careful not to mark your new pride and joy paintwork-then he will be more careful! Fair enough it isn't easy to lay carpet without the odd marks...but I once had the wallpaper, door frames, skirtings and...
