    Loft conversion and regs

Hi, I am looking to convert the loft with a dorma etc. Do I have to have landing and fire doors? Or is there any why I can have the stairs just going directly into the loft with a balustrade? I am happy to call it a loft and not a bedroom etc!!

    ceiling void

Hi many thanks for the help, unfortunately, there is not enough head height in the kitchen for additional layer of plaster board. And although I am happy to use just rockwool, some people have said that xyz or abc is better as there is better sound retarding than plain rockwool
