Hi,

I am trying to find out what would be the best insulation for the void between my kitchen and bathroom.

There seems to be so much out there, I am finding it hard to decide what would be good or not!!

Added to that, as soon as I mention sound insulation, or helping to stop the noise of someone peeing in the loo coming through to the kitchen! I get all manner of sound proofing ideas thrown at me!!

As I pointed out to one supplier I do not need sound proofing as my kitchen does not double as a recording studio!!

All the wiring has been completed in the void along with the pipe work for gas/water.

Any pointers would greatly appreciated :)

Put rockwool slabs in the cavity and add an extra layer of plasterboard on. Leave some space around the cables, or slip some conduit over them.

Hi many thanks for the help, unfortunately, there is not enough head height in the kitchen for additional layer of plaster board.

And although I am happy to use just rockwool, some people have said that xyz or abc is better as there is better sound retarding than plain rockwool
