Can anyone help with this question please?
I have just had a concealed beam fitted within the ceiling void and i'm about to plasterboard the ceiling.
There will be a shallow void between the steel and the ceiling of approx 25mm. The rest of the ceiling void has 100mm quilted insulation fitted for sound proofing more than anything, however, I was wondering whether I should place some insulation between this 25mm void just incase a cold spot should occur along the length of the steel thus attracting condensation!
Any idea's as to whether i'm worrying unnecassarily! Should i insulate the void or not? If it does need doing I was thinking of seperating 25mm of the quilted insulation and laying it in whilst plasterboarding.
Any help would be grateful.
