To be completely honest, I wouldn't bother wasting your time. Yes, it could be a potential hazard, but more obviously it wouldn't take long before it starts to come away with condensation and steam etc caused by cooking, or a tumble dryer lets say. Although you can buy wipeable wallpapers designed for kitchens, they would look stupid on a ceiling. Needless to say, someone, somewhere has probably done it anyway, and is wishing they hadn't. Just paint it!

You can buy a fireshield plasterboard. Sorry, missed that bit in my last message. I still wouldn't paper it though.

You can paper any ceiling including a kitchen, best use Fresco plain white blown vinyl paste with solvite heave duty past, follow the instructions for heavy vinyl blown vinyl, after a couple of days paint with dulux vinyl for kitchens and bathrooms in a colour of your choice.

I just think it's a lot of work for a kitchen ceiling that's all, especially when it's one of the most abused rooms in the house. But, it's down to the individual I guess
