my kitchen floor has self adsive tiles and they are curling up and loose. So l decided to take them up but they are leaving a kind of black mastic backing on the floor, and it,s a nightmare trying to scrap it up.Anyone got any quicker and better ideas to get this backing up.

Just a thought and not tried at all.
Warm the tile with a hairdryer for a few minutes, lift the tile and scrape up and remaining adeshive.

i was in the same position last night got all the tiles up and ive got the blisters to proove it, what ive done is mixed pva 50/50 with water add cement and sand until its like a dark grey cream and get a paint roller and roll. got up this morning its ideal for tiling, ill probably give it a coat of pva 5/1 roll and then tile let you know how it goes tomoz.
