Hi,
I'm ready to lay 22mm flooring ply in a kitchen and bathroom, should the ply be glued and screwed to the joists and at the butting edges?. It isn't t&g like the chipboard layed upstairs.

All edges must be supported either along the centre line of a joist or by fitting intermediate noggins. Are you tiling over it?

No, not tiling, it will be vinyl.
By intermediate noggins do you mean from joist to joist (maybe 2 noggins at each board join) or from joist to joist then another bit of timber parallel to joists?.

To support the edges of any boards running across the joists, fix 50mmm wide noggins at 90 degrees between adjacent joists; position joints parallel with the joists down the centre line of a joist. I would advise you use WBP not ordinary ply & fix with screws not nails.
