Could be an intermittent fault with the gas valve ?

Could just be it needs to complete it's over run cycle to dissipate heat ?

I wont try and fix it but because i had a part replaced in february i want to get an idea if its related so as i dont get ripped off if it is that part thats to blame not sure what it is all i know is it was a big alloy block and one of its jobs was igniting the pilot light

Sounds like the gas valve.

Does it have something like Dungs written on it ?

And you have to turn and press down a grey plunger to re-ignite it if the flame goes out ?

The older mexico's werent self igniters

All i can see is something that says honeywell 4600a but i checked the hotwater tank upstairs and the black thermostat thingy wasnt on the tank and must have been knocked off probably by the wife i will blame her anyway i have put that back on and pulled the curtain rail thingy back around it not sure if that may have affacted it
