42Kw Boiler with Wireless Stat & Receiver

Hi,

I have a large boiler which is being driven by a Drayton RF Plus wireless thermstat and a 'British Gas' branded wireless SCR receiver.

Almost daily I have to reset the comms between the two, not because they lose signal but it's the only way I can get the receiver to fire up the boiler.

Even though the light flicks to green on the receiver I can't hear an audible click and therefore the boiler doesn't fire. If I reset then all is well for a while.

Someone said I should change the receiver to a Honeywell but the models recommended were only suitable for boilers up to 30Kw.

My question is...are there any wireless stat's/receivers that will work on a 42Kw boiler or should I revert to wired.

Does it matter what size the boiler is? Are you saying a Hummer has a bigger accelerator pedal than a Mini?

Get yourseld a Danfoss TP5000 Si or Honeywell equivalnet. They will do the job

I understand what you are saying, I was just saying that a honeywell receiver is good up to 30Kw only (so say the instructions and Honeywell support.

Bet the Hummer has a bigger battery than the mini.

Check that it is not a problem with the signal. The RF will pass through walls but finds it difficult at acute angles. Also can struggle with foil backed plasterboard. Move the stat to see if this improves. Also check that the receiver is positioned correctly. The signal will struggle to pass through a boiler.

I have a rig set up to demonstrate this to engineers, placing some scrunched up tin foil between the stat and receiver stops the signal.

If you still need to change it get the straight swap for the receiver. Drayton, I would suspect. No wiring, no fuss, just 2 screws.
