Hi I have a leak on a baxi duo tex combi 28 he.

I've looked under the hood and taken some snaps of the problem (attached) which appears to be connected to the diverter valve and droplets of water are on the connection between the pressure sensor and the diverter valve unit.

This only appears during the day or overnight when boiler is off which tells me that the pressure when boiler is on is causing the leak to close up but when it cools then the pipes contract and it leaks.

I don't intend to fix it myself I'm more on a knowledge gathering exercise so I understand what to expect when I phone an engineer.

What sort of cost of repair am I looking at here if the above is correct?

It does rather look as if its just the pressure sensor leaking from its connection.

It would not be a very difficult repair for a competent DIYer.

Its been leaking for some while and probably cheapest to ask someone if they could do it with a service.

Should cost somewhere between about £55 and £85.

Cheers Tony I appreciate the response.

Will try and get someone round this weekend

The fibre washers on those thermistors are quite poor quality if over tightened it will split.
Like that

Hi,how old is your boiler.i am just asking as i would be very peed off if it was less than 3 years.

The boiler is 4yrs old I believe and this is the first time I've had any problems with it to be honest.

I got it fixed at the weekend - boiler drained, pressure sensor removed, leak fixed and all put back together for £60. Even checked a couple of other things I had crop up as well on radiators.

No signs of the leak re-appearing yet but I'll leave the bucket underneath it for a week just in case.

Great news its fixed and you found a repair person who has the can do attitude.

good luck.
