OK - the argument rages as expected and indeed necessary and desirable.

Bottom line is that she had children who grieve her passing.

Leave all politics aside and try to empathize. Next time it could be you and yours. Whether and who pays for Weds is irrelevant on this thread. She played as a kid, loved and lost. Let it be.

RIP all those who died and are remembered by those who live.

Read the post title, and there was me thinking of another sad so&so who enjoyed cheesy TV trash about Motorbike cops in California.....

SO, is the choice of funeral arrangements for ex prime ministers a right?

Strikes me as a leeetle bit megalomanic to expect to be awarded a state funeral.

Just my two old pennies worth on the milk snatcher.

Two of the most odious public figures this country has produced in modern times. Why should we care about them?

I would be quite happy to **** on anyone who actually sees this funeral as some sort of an opportunity to protest.

Pathetic.

The only good thing about this whole debacle is that I will know who to avoid in future.

Since you are a maggie apologist, please put me on your 'ignore' list...

I am the 'enemy within'...

To some people you may seem odious. So why should you think anyone should care about you?
Bogus question. I'm not:
a. A public figure
b. Related to a public figure
c. A racist
d. Been involved in attempted coups
e. Wrecked communities

The Thatcher clan have been in recent years.

No matter what your political stance is I myself find it sad that anybody who has passed away wether it is her or the most popular person in the world should have parties to celebrate their passing. I wont shed a tear but I wont be partying either

Of course. That's just common good manners and decency.

Still, I suppose there are those whose mummies never taught them about such things.

Lefty parents don't bother with things like that. They instill a reflex hatred of Mrs T in their offspring. The kids then end up spouting the same hate filled rhetoric.

The fact that these kids weren't even born when she left office , and certainly can't remember the 70s and the reasons why the UK electorate were desperate for her policies, is immaterial. They still parrot the same nonsense, sounding like Ben Elton on Saturday Night Live ranting about 'Mrs Thatch'. Looking at the rioters 'celebrating' Thather's death in Bristol recently, many were in their 20s.

Lefties are also likely to pass on their hatred of all things American. Many of them will never have been to America, or even met an American. It's what everyone else with a similar mindset thinks, so they will follow like sheep.

'Sheep' is the word. I suppose we should feel sorry for them; it is, after all, the way they were brought up.

Personally, I'm just glad I have a mind of my own.
