Went to wire up a s plan system and persons unknown had temporary connected the 2 port valve!

Orange and brown to the live, blue and grey to neutral.
Why not just push the lever over on the valve.

Not quite immediately - fuse would blow once the valve had fully opened.
Either that or the switch in the valve will be destroyed.

Can't understand why anyone would do such a thing.

Why would the fuse blow? These valves are designed for 240v and are designed to operate permanently stalled when fully opened.

The fuse would blow because when the valve goes to the open posiition there is a micro-switch which closes and connects Orange wire to Grey wire.
