Hi - We have had porcelain tiles laid in our kitchen and plan to have them outside the bi-fold doors, so it looks like the floor extends outside.

The tiles are black glazed porcelain - any tips on any products to best protect the tiles with exterior use?

Thanks, Nick

if they are frostproof then you need to do exactly nothing to look after them, but you do need to ensure they are laid properly, external laying needs a different technique - solid bed fixing is needed as this stops water pooling in the gaps left by a normal trowel, these freeze in the winter and cause damage.

The other consideration is to make sure they are suitable from a slip resistance point of view

Yep they could be. some ranges have a non slip version, so may be worth asking. ask for the R rating of the tile
