Hi
New member. Here seeking help on the above

I've had this for 6 years and it's been great till, last week, I don't use the drying function very often, but went to use it, walked away and when I went back the lights were flashing rapidly.

Now when I try to use it, it begins then after about 5 minutes stops mid cycle and the lights are flashing again.

It does this whether it is on a wash, rinse, drain, spin or dry cycle and always after about 5 minutes.

The lights flashing are the first second and fourth as well as the red door lock light

I've searched the web and cannot find anything other than a reference to another model where those lights indicate a drier fan fault, but to my mind why would this affect a wash or spin programme?

Any help advice or things to try gratefully appreciated

Regards

Frank

You got error 15. Fan could be jammed. Condenser blocked with fluff. Or themister faulty on heater box. It does a test first to see if everything is working if not it throws up a error code.

Thanks rocks1

I think it was that list I saw previously.

I should have said earlier, I've taken the top off the machine, I'm no washing machine engineer, but assuming the fan is the one attached to a duct running along the top of the drum, the spindle can be seen spinning.

Where will I find the other two possible causes?

Once again many thanks

Regards

Frank

Edit to add

Is there any test I can make? Eg. Disconnect or short across something to eliminate as a fault ( purely as a test)

Put it on dry cycle. See if it gets warm before the error code comes up. That tests the heater. Check the black themister on the heater box. It's got 2 thin wires on it , some times they break off. You can remove the heater box and look at the condenser , that's the plastic bottle shape on the back, put the inlet hose in there and shut the door and flush it thou. Then if still not working. Take the themister off the rear heater and swap it with the dryer one as a test. That should keep you busy.

Just realised I never updated this thread with the solution, which I normally try to do in case someone googles a similar fault.

Anyway, the duct was not getting hot (or even warm) there was continuity at the element which pointed toward the Thermistor, als a quick search showed a thermistor was about £10 and an element about £30.

So the decision was made to try the thermistor first, to fit it you have to separate the two halves of the duct, I fitted it, tested it and hey presto it worked a treat! Many thanks to Rocks1 for his help.

Final tip! Don't discount the manufacturers genuine spares, Indesit were cheaper than Espares, partsmaster etc. Also guaranteed to be the correct part and quality
