I've bought this tap:

http://www.bristan.com/epages/Brist...AL WMSNK C CD"/SubProducts/"VAL WMSNK C CD^1"

The instructions are very limited and I'm at a loss as to how fit it without cutting a hole in the other side of the stud wall, which I really don't want to do as it's fully finished. The tap is fixed using a back nut and the front fixing is just a threaded flange with no means to significantly tighten it.

My first plan was to cut out a section of the plasterboard between the studs and to fit a board behind the section of plasterboard and then fit the tap and screw the whole thing back in place onto some battens fixed to the studs. The problem with this solution is that it leave no way of tiling a splashback as even if I tile so that the grout lines are on the pipe centres I still won't be able to significantly tighten the flanges after inserting the tiles behind them.

If anyone has any ideas or experience of fitting taps like this I'd be most grateful for your input.

You need two 1/2" female connections in the kitchen wall eg - http://www.screwfix.com/p/p803wp-2-wall-plate-elbow-15mm-x/92934#_=p

Set these at 200mm centers, alter H & C pipework to suit

Re finish wall plaster, tiles etc.

Screw tap pillars into sockets, then attach tap

The back nuts supplied are not suitable for your proposed install. These are for a panel type system (IPS)
