Are tap valve/cartridges for Bristan 1901 taps interchangeable?

I think I have an old version of this tap: http://www.bristan.com/epages/Bristan.sf/en_GB/?ObjectPath=/Shops/Bristan/Products/"N SNK EF C"

The taps say "1901" on them but it's a slightly different shape. I would guess the tap is at least five years old, possibly a lot more. Is "1901" a 'perennial' range?

I need to replace the valve/cartridge inside the tap body - part 6 here: http://www.bristan.com/WebRoot/BristanNewDB/Shops/Bristan/Products/INSTRUC. PDF-1116522-1-D1-1.PDF . The tap wasn't turning on fully, just dribbling, and now I've gone and stripped the grub screw things at the top.

There are spares on ebay but it's hard to see what they are for... few actually state which range they are for. These look similar: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Bristan-Tap-Valves-Pair-/131747468925 - at least the top of the valve does, the part that's currently exposed.

So what are the chances of the above valve working on a potentially older tap, are spares very specific to range and model?

You need to get a match on both the cartridge length and the spline count on the top of the cartridge.

Bristan have good spares support - best order direct from them after checking for compatibility.

Ok, on their website they didn't list any spares so I assumed there wasn't any. Will try phoning.

Email them a picture of your tap im sure bristan will recognise it, i have emailed photos to manufacturers numerous times for model identification and they are all more than happy to help.
