New blow torch: Which one?

As per the title really, I need a new blow torch and looking for something of decent quality rather than low cost.

I will be soldering 15mm to 28mm pipe, using it for heating rusted fittings on cars etc and maybe the odd bit of brazing.

I was leaning towards a Rothenberger Superfire 2 but read that its output is a bit on the oil rig flare stack. Is that improved with a swirl tip? Or would the pros no longer touch this torch with a barge pole, if so what do you recommend?

Nowt wrong with the Rothy. You can adjust the flame size down.

Can't comment on the brazing but mine has been used from 8 to 54mm copper.

We use a Rothenberger at work, very handy not having to drag the big welding bottles out for unseizing bolts etc on motorcycles.

Very well made bit of kit, we have the yellow bottles (MAP).

I bought the Wolseley Hot Box as a back up to my two torches. It comes with a "Cool Tip"... that remains cold when torch is in use.

Flipped over to the swirl tip and other jet that came in the kit and now when letting off the trigger I get a small burp of flame out of the holes around the jet in the burn tube.

Is that kinda normal? I assume it probably is but thought I would check

15.49 for the Yellow MAP gas refill at screwfix.

Can buy them in packs of 10 cheaper though.

A bottle lasts a surprisingly long time.
