Kitchen chimney has no pots. Damp showing through new plaster?

hehe yeah I spotted that graze with the little opening. Do you think this will be an issue with letting rain-water in? We actually do have a problem with squirrels chewing at the waste food bin lids down below ;)

Definitely open holes at the top. Also as there are no chimney pots the water is pretty much going straight into the chimney. I do not have a vent in the kitchen, but will cowls over these holes help keep the inside dry?

What sort of cowls would you recommend to use if the chimney flue is no longer in use?

Yes the lead is shot, the flashband repair was required due to squirrel damage too I expect
To be honest this chimney needs knocking down.
The bricks are spalling badly , The render at the top is someone hoping for the best but can only fail.
