Patio advice, start again or fixable?

We are having a patio laid which has a path coming off to the right next to the house, the garden is a bit higher than the patio and has a brick wall around it. The wall for the path fits in 900mm of slabs plus mortar so no cutting was required but the patio was started at the back working towards the house and now it's come to the path it's out by just about 10mm which means it will need a really thin slice cutting off to get it too fit. Probably not really noticable in the photo but the bottom pic one shows the gap 15mm (with the spirit level) if the slab was laid in the correct position



There is a 200mm gravel border round the main patio so the 10mm will only need to come off a small part of the first slab and then each one for about 900mm, the slabs are porcelain so quite hard to cut this precisely. It also leaves a comparatively big gap where it meets the slot drains, joint gaps 5mm gap at slot drain is 15-20mm.


I really don't want to start again as it's been well laid and looks great up to this point, the slabs will be difficult if not impossible to get up, at least a quarter laid, without damage but I'm not sure if this will standout and look too noticeable or if I'm just worrying about nothing because I've spent so long designing it that it stands out to me but won't to others.

The other option if taking just 10mm off a slab is difficult is to add a smaller 100mm or 50mm channel for gravel which will be easier to cut off the slab but as the rest of the patio is designed to use full slabs looks a bit odd to me. It's been mocked up in the photo above.

My guess is you will either need to take up a few slabs and stretch the beds a bit.

Or hire a bridge saw and trim of (although Im not sure these saws will cut just 10mm).

As you say, others probably wouldn't notice but you would know it wasn't quite right.
From personal experience you will never be truly happy with it if you know it isn't right, however, you only have two options. Put it right so you have peace of mind or adjust it by cutting to size. 10mm is not a big amount on a project this size and it's not as if it's a vertical structure where it would be more likely to be noticed.
