WMF 740 DOOR message

Hi,
Aquaris WMF 740 half way through a cycle I could here beep beep.
Went into kitchen to see washing machine had a message DOOR.
Trying to press the on / off did nothing.
Turning the dial to setting 5 from 3 then trying again also did nothing.
Turning it off at the wall then silenced it and door could be opened.

Left it say two hours and tried again, all seemed fine until 32 minutes to go then BEEP BEEP & message again.

Does this sound like the door interlock switch on the back of the door ?

If so when I take it off I need to join a wire or two to be able to use the machine until the new part arrives.


Just remembered that I was using cycle 3 and it stopped at 35 minutes to go.
The next time it happens it was 32 minutes to go.

Sounds like you might have inadvertently put it into demonstration mode if you machine has that feature. Read the manual thoroughly to find out how to exit the mode as there are several ways to do it that are software level dependant

I don’t think it’s that to be honest.

it has 3 wires but which two do I join to rule out the interlock and do a cycle

Ive looked at the door interlock to see 2 brown wires and 1 red wire.
On the interlock i see next to each connector the numbers 3,4 & 5
