Anyone Got A New-ish Motorola?

Xiaomi redmi note 9 has a huge battery and is a pretty decent spec for around 100 to 140 depending on where you get it from

I'm considering getting it myself

It seems we have new brand in the equation.

Samsung are in the running and the best phone I can find for the revised budget of £150 is the A21s.

Based on the specs of that and the two Motorola contenders, which would you buy?

Get an Android one phone - guaranteed updates and it won't slow down over time.
Well, I've looked at a great deal of phones and compared them and narrowed it down to two, then one.

But, having watched a great many reviews on YT, some from Tech Spurt, I have discovered a great many phones don't have Gorilla Glass and scratch very easily.

So I started searching all over again and have come up with one that is at the top end of the budget, has Gorilla Glass and is better specced (apart from missing a gyro) than my previous first choice. It has a better chipset, NFC (which may come in handy for contactless payments), a bigger screen and slightly better camera.

It is also an Android one phone (like my first choice), but this is already on Android 10 and has two guaranteed updates, whereas the previous first choice was on Android 9, so already on the back foot.

My previous choice BTW was the Motorola One Macro and the one I have chosen instead is a Nokia 5.3. It gets some really great reviews.

If you have only a limited budget (around £150), you could do far worse than pick this Nokia!

Thanks, pip!

She has a Huawei at the moment, and wants to move away from them!

I like the brand and think you get a great spec for the money.

Won't buy the adapters just yet. There are two other phones in the house with USB C and we have a handful of leads so should be OK.

Well, I thought I'd cracked it (excuse the pun), but the Nokia 5.3 is too wide.

Mrs Secure only has diddy dannies, so doesn't want anything wider than 71mm.

She has two phones, her private Huawei P8 Lite (71mm wide) and a work Samsung that is a bit wider.

She has dropped her work phone a couple of times, so wants something no wider than the P8 Lite.

She also doesn't want a glass back, as she thinks it will double the chances of damage if it is dropped.

Back to the drawing board.

If I don't find one, I'll give up and she can buy a replacement!!

You want as clean an Android experience as possible and support for os upgrades - congrats for choosing Android one.

The Nokia was rejected....too wide....:(:(:( I know, I know...there's only a few mill in it!

The G7 Play which was initially rejected for being too small is now apparently just right. I'm calling her Goldilocks from now on.....

She went for a G7 Play from Argos @ £90, but we did have to drive a 50 mile round trip for it, as it was not available any nearer.

Amazon sell them for £135.

I'd've had the Nokia like a shot - I reckon that'll fly off the shelves!
